Welcome to Our New Summer Interns Through the Nutrition Department's new NURISh program

This summer, we are welcoming Zoie Gavel and Sarah Grace Wisener to work as interns in the lab! Zoie and Sarah Grace are both rising seniors who are studying nutrition here at Texas A&M and have prepared the following bios about their future goals and their experience this far in the lab!

Zoie: I am currently planning to complete a MS/DI, become a Registered Dietitian, and possibly get a PhD in nutrition in the future! This summer, I have been helping Amber with one of her projects. Through that, I am learning about the process of doing a systematic review and meta-analysis. It has been a very beneficial and fun experience so far to see what it is like to work in a lab and do research!

Sarah Grace: After my undergrad, I plan to get a PhD in nutrition science and advance the field of precision nutrition. In the Vanden Brink lab, I am working on a systematic review and meta analysis of disparities in diet quality between pregnant adolescents and pregnant adults in the US. Our findings will inform health care professionals and policy makers on specific nutritional issues to address in this population.
